Oops

I wish I was coming back to say that the reason I have been gone so long is that I had magically worked out how to process my fleece. That’s not the case though.

I have actually decided that my attempts at fleece are doomed to failure, for now at least. I think I need more experience and perhaps a drum carder. I’m coming away with more waste than I would hope for and I’m not sure if it’s me and my lack of experience or just what I have to work with.

I don’t mind though, I shall be a fair weather spinner and stick to my processed fibres for now. Some of us just aren’t made for the whole process.

I will come back to it eventually, but for now I’m just going to enjoy spinning what I have. I really enjoyed the lock spinning I did recently and I’m loving the rainbow yarn I am currently spinning. Both have patterns waiting for them but for now I am working on a new pattern with a commercial gradient type yarn that was inspired by a late night visit from a pretty moth. What do you think of my start so far?

The stitch counts are going to be tricky but the patterns and possibilities that are buzzing through my head about this beauty are going nowhere so I’m enjoying the process and I just love those colours!
