It’s been a bit of a busy week life wise so I haven’t had a chance to write up my rolags spin, it will happen! I’m on it, honest, and be assured I am a convert and rolags are definitely a fun way to spin. In related news the stunning pastel yarn I made last week has already sold and is winging its way to a new home in the US though it was very hard to part with!
I know I said that I was having a non spinning week but I got itchy fingers by Wednesday and I’ve been lusting after a lock spin for a while so I pulled this gorgeous green out of my stash bag and managed this mini skein in an hour
I love the acid green and this will have to feature in a weave at some point.
There are more tiles for the blanket and I think I am now up to 12 main motifs
And I worked out what to do with the nice big pieces of yarn left from weaving
I need to list them in my Etsy shop but I think they are really nifty and I love a way to cut waste. I would really like to hear other thoughts?
Oh and I am almost all the way through another sunflower blanket, but I keep forgetting to take pictures of it.
The whole week was spent working through a stinking cold but happily that is now almost gone so I have been able to plan what I will spin this coming week, shop for my Fibreshare gift and I’m looking forward to finishing off a knocker that I had to put on hold (I am a volunteer knitter for the Knitted Knockers charity, check them out if you have a minute).
I haven’t touched my loom. I will. I want to order some more Ice Yarns cotton cakes though as I’m not really feeling inspired to make anything else other than another massive wrap scarf. I really need some help to get motivated with my loom. I enjoy the process of weaving I’m just not sure what to make.
So, it’s sunflower blanket for the foreseeable and a coil spin mid week.
Have a woolly week everyone.
